The dilemma of manpower

We are in amidst of an unprecedented and extremely dynamic business environment. As a logistics startup, we see this situation as a challenge and also an opportunity to extend our services to provide digital solutions through our freight transportation. Our digitally driven operational process is aligned with the long term changes in Indian logistics to facilitate contact-less delivery of cargo. However, currently there is a 40% shortage of drivers on Trucks leading to a huge demand-supply gap definition of essential goods that has certain confusion on the ground level and the trucks are facing the brunt of it. Inter-city movement has been drastically impacted whereas short-haul movement sees a surgeMany importers who had earlier opted for DPD, are now moving their cargo to CFS as the factories are shut and production of goods has been at an all-time low. The CFS has seen a huge increase in its volume due to the above reasons.
Subsequently we at Gocon have supplied masks, sanitizer to our working staff and arranged food and are working at the highest safety level. We have also run a training program for current drivers/ Transporters for the need of social distancing and hygiene.
The situation calls for complete sync of all aspects of the supply chain to facilitate movement. Recently we have transported milk in containers through rail and completed last-mile delivery. This ensured the movement of essential goods and our commitment to serving our customers remain strong as ever.
